This is kind of an old story but it is probably one of the worst cases I have heard. I think this is the female version of the OJ trial. A woman married to a marine who has a history of spending like crazy, wanting a lavish lifestyle filled with parties ends up arrested for poisoning her husband with arsenic which she and only she had easy access to and close contact with him gets freed. apparently the case was thrown out since prosecution couldnt find the exact vile or container with sommer's finger prints and the arsenic poisoning. allegedly arsenic could have been disproven but I doubt that. Did wife poison Marine? - Crime & courts Newly freed widow of Marine may sue the D.A. in San Diego - Los Angeles Times Still a jury found her guilty, one person sitting behind a desk dismissed this all. | |||

For the facts, please see: www.FreeCynthia.com Cynthia Sommer, who was once convicted of killing her Marine husband with arsenic, was cleared April 17, 2007, after new tests showed no traces of any poison. Todd Sommer was not murdered, yet his widow spent 869 days in jail for a crime that never happened. ![]() Quote:
