Coca-Cola supports violence against men. In fact, violence against men was so commonplace and funny that it was included in a montage about life in the 1980s. I challenge any feminist who claims that violence against women was widely accepted and encouraged by society to find an advert from yesteryear where a man assaults a woman. I bet it can't be done. So whose violence against who is really celebrated by society?

It starts around 20 seconds.

The guy was just talking, and that wasn't a little swat, that was a hard slap. But, of course, there's no excuse for violence, against a man that is. Even a commentor believes that her reaction was proper.

Getting smacked like that by a girl used to be the sort of standard and proper response to a guy who had just said something improper to or had taken one too many liberties with the girl. Man, the girl in this ad REALLY doesn't like what he said . Ha ha.

I like how they automatically assumed the man was in the wrong and that he must have said something improper or taken too many liberties, despite the fact that we have no idea what they were conversing about.

The spurious pretext of many such misandric ads is that it serves as some justified vengeful revisiting of past wrongs. In actuality the worst genuine examples feminists can roll out are women depicted in mundane traditional Suzy homemaker roles (as with the men of the time). You certainly won't be able to find any examples of women subjected to ritual humiliation, omnipresent contempt and violence unleashed upon them in hundreds of spiteful variations.

Ever noticed in the thousands of media depictions of women slapping men, they all have this - regimental - look of 'angered entitlement' etched into their scatty grimace?

Was it "art imitating life or life imitating art?"

Yes I have. The double standard is that a woman is in touch with her instincts and intuition, which is unerring, and if she is angry, well, there is damn good reason. On the other hand of the double standard men are told we are ogres with anger management problems.

See Harold Lloyd in the 10's, Buster Keaton and Laurel and Hardy in the 20's, whose brilliant performances were regularly interspersed with wives depicted violently wielding kitchen utensils and dispensing all manner of accepted screen violence. This shit has been commonplace on the moving screen for almost a century now. And long before that within theatre from which it evolved from.
