When women commit crimes they mention disorders and depressions as a excuse for their misdeeds.

I saw an interesting "explanation" for this a few days back @ one of the other forums (I think it was SYG). The guy said he thinks this is the case because we as society are not able to admit to ourselves that women are capable of evil. We're deliberately fooling ourselves, because it's so much easier than facing the truth. Deep down we know it's not true, but we choose not to believe it, because it goes against everything we've been taught about women since we were little. Ergo, any evil woman is not really evil, she is just a victim of some "disorder".
The source of all this is supposed to be the fact that women as mothers are viewed as the "primary parents", and as such mothers can not be evil, mothers take care of helpless little beings. This notion about mothers is then preserved and extended to whole female population.
I can't do it justice here, it was something in this vein, I'd post it if I'd know where exactly it was posted, but I don't and I don't have the time to search for it.
P.S.: By "We" I most certainly exclude the present company
