Kimberly Ruth Noyes is standing trial on charges of second-degree murder in the death of neighbour John Fulton, 12. (CBC) A forensic psychiatrist has testified that a B.C. woman accused of killing a 12-year-old autistic boy first intended to sacrifice her own eight-year-old daughter instead.
Kimberley Ruth Noyes, 53, of Grand Forks, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of John David Fulton, whose body was found in Noyes's home in August 2009.
The court has heard Noyes has bipolar disorder and a long history of mental illness following the birth of her third child, and much of the trial has so far focused on her mental state.
Dr. Shabehram Lohrasbe told Noyes's trial Thursday that Noyes believed the man who is now her ex-husband was the devil and that she had to sacrifice her younger daughter in order to resurrect her.
But at some point, the woman's attention turned to her neighbour Fulton, and then one day she woke up believing he needed to die, Lohrasbe testified at the trial, which is being held in Rossland.
Noyes was charged after the boy was found dead in her townhouse two days after he had disappeared from the front steps of his home, two doors away.
Fulton was stabbed through the neck with a kitchen knife, experts told the trial last week.
Noyes did not have custody of any of her own children at the time of the homicide.

They seem to be making a good case for her being mad rather than simply bad.

That may be the case.

But the consequences of the actions are of greater import than the motive.

Always, always, always!!!!! I truely belive that most people simply do not want to believe that there are women out there who simply have a taste for killing children. Defence attourneys are keenly aware of this and take full advantage of it. The defense is always that the woman was having emotional/psychological issues and therefore she is not responsible. This is how the painful reality is avoided. Another tactic is to simply blame the men in her life.
