No problem Timo. I would say what you do at honor is a good enough guide. Ancient wisdom and ideas like honour cant fail. I think appealing to mens spirituality is a big topic. I dont feel at home in the church at all its highly feminised and lacks dynamism. I cant speak for others I certianly find religion demanding and difficult. I suspect many men do in these times. I think to get christian men on board appealing to action fraternities-the revolution will grow apace. I recently met feminist women who have made inroads in the church. I went quietly and calmy on the attack. I asked did they support women priests. "Yes" they bridled. You?
"No".I said You should have seen their faces.I got the expected verbals. Not used to opposition. I can see they have made massive inroads and most elderly clergy lack the will to resist them. A big part of me wants an al out fight and I could easily roar at these. However I try to do the christian thing which takes massive effort and is much much harder than actually giving as good as you get. Remaining calm and polite in the face of insults etc. I think for men -action- "lashing out "like poor old Peter is always our instinct but in some way we are called to rise above this. For modern christian men this is our agony too.
I can tell you that there is a group of priests in the catholic church called the "marian movement". They would oppose feminism and noveltism of any sort in a very quiet purposeful way. They dont say much about anything ,revealing for me, they dont respond to feminists demands they calmly oppose them by their actions. Like a ship between two pillars being bombarded from all sides they move straight ahead. They are lead by a very frail and humble priest who has real prophetic insight. They dont reply to feminist demands, they ignore them and do what they believe is right they enter into no debate with feminist or liberals starving them of attention. They are a big hit wherever they go with men and women alike. So hope there is!
