Club of Rome sure if folk acted logically but real political issues are solved with ordnance just look at northern Georgia - the Russians saw a theat to their hegemony in a region traditionally under Russian overview so out came the tanks the heavy artillery the military fighters etc

wasn't it Bismarck that said something about issues in the Prussian area in the 19th C that things would be settled by "blood and iron" in the end

or in other words 'war is diplomacy by other means' not my words but somebody smart thought it up
