It's timeless in the sense that we've been asking it since time immemorial, but I think the answer has changed quite a bit over the millennia. These days for instance, idealism and romanticism are on the wane, cynicism is in the ascendancy. I think the innocent love of 50 years ago would have been quite nice to experience.
